On the plus side, I like the overall design and the price. It's hard to find an aluminum tactical flashlight with a crenelated head and a twist zoom that takes 3 AAA batteries. As I already have a charger and a supply of AAA Ni-MH batteries, I wanted a flashlight that takes those, and not only the 18650 3.7V Li-Ion batteries. The ones with the head that slides out to zoom are much more common. The flashlight has a CREE Q5 LED. It's pretty bright, but it's not as bright as my other tactical flashlight with a CREE XM-L T6 LED.

On the minus side, the execution is poor. Sometimes it doesn't turn on, and sometimes it turns on but is too dim way dimmer than the low setting. Shaking the flashlight resolves the problems, but I can hear the battery pack rattling around inside when I do this, and it really should work without shaking. It really needs to fit more tightly. Moreover, the zoom is too limited. At the one end, I can get a very narrow beam that projects an image of the LED. At the other end, it doesn't throw a wide enough beam to illuminate a large area. Between that and the poor execution, I can only give it 2 stars.

I have been looking for a bright, dependable light to carry in my jeep for emergencies and this seemed to fit the bill and not beak the budget. Very happy with the flashlight upon receipt with the exception of on thing mentioned by several others. This is not a light that would be suitable for mounting on a weapon. If you hit or jar this light it switches between modes (low/flash/high). Cheap manufacturing and loose tolerances are to blame. What do you expect from a cheap light? This problem can be easily remedied by adding a few rubber grommets/washers inside at each end of the battery pack to prevent shifting of the battery pack. Once a few grommets have been installed this flashlight is rock solid and well worth the price for use as a utility/emergency light.
