This is a really nice light, it comes in a nice display case, and the beam it produces is bright and mostly a throw type beam. It uses either 2 18650 batteries with optional battery case or 4 cr123a batteries. I bought one of these lights from EdisonBright with no problems. The problem comes with the realization that the light modes and electronic circuits don't work correctly, and haven't from the time that I got the light. I have contacted EdisonBright and Olight and have had no help in trying to send the light back for repair. EdisonBright says to contact Olight and Olight says to contact EdisonBright.......both of them simply "pass the buck". Note that I have not asked for a replacement or free repair, all that I have requested was to send it back for repair. So if you buy one of these and get lucky and get a good one then you'll probably be happy with it. If on the other hand you need service after the sale.....good luck with that.

Just received our Olight CR51. Purchased rechargeable 18650 batteries & adapter. This is our 1st serious LED flashlight. We have other inexpensive small LED flashlights, but they can't compare to the CR51. It is so bright it can hurt your eyes if in the way. It replaces a rechargeable spotlight that failed. It impressed us when we used it at night in the back yard. We use it for spotting varmints & assorted wild animals that frequent our yard. Highly recommend this flashlight. I ordered 2 of these lights. On one of them the ON button was very difficult to push. The other had to be returned due to a malfuntion of the circuitry. It would go dim and make a buzzing sound when switch to high. I was able to repair the ON button on the other light with much trouble. I had to completely disassemble the light including desoldering the LED board and removing the driver circuit board, rotate the circuit board to line up with ON button and reinstall it. This was a very difficult repair and I only attempted it because I'm an electronics field service engineer. Most people would have had to return this light also. After the repair the light worked as advertised and has been very reliable. I ordered this light for the high setting. It is extremely bright. Even with the defuser attached, the high setting lit the area 200 feet from the light.However, the low setting is just slightly lower than high, and is still very bright. If you are near a campfire and just need a light to get to the bathroom, you'll lose any notion of night vision with this light.
I absolutely recommend this light for anyone who needs a lot of light.
