Much brighter than the original P60 surefire bulb. After removing the outer spring the bulb drops right in to the surefire G2. Not to mention the price is more than fair in comparison to other bulbs. Very happy with this bulb.

Update: Still bright and working just fine in my G2 nine months later. This is a good buy.

As the previous reviewer wrote, you have to remove the outer spring before using it in the G2. Fits perfectly, is very bright, projects a nice even pattern, lower priced than most bulbs, great upgrade. After a few minutes of use, my G2 did start to get rather warm, and after about 10 minutes, it shut off, I'm guessing because of heat. It worked fine after a few minutes of cooling down.

Purchased this drop-in from ThruNite store received a TLS DI-Q5-1 single stage drop-in ( OpticsHQ ) so a Q5 not a R2 Cree, no big deal not a big difference between them. Mine came with a loose emitter board (poor thermal paste job ) and a slightly loose driver ( poor solder job ) on the brass pill. I easily fixed the problems; however, not everybody can or wants to do that. After the fix this drop-in is actually a decent performer, nice throw, good operating voltage range 2.7-9V so you can use a variety of battery configurations ( multiple CR123A or RCR123/16340 and other Li-ion batteries ), 250 lumens single mode ( doesn't get hot ) basically a decent drop-in. Dropped a star in the rating due to the fix ( I actually like doing such things ).
