Does not remember llight setting. Have to cycle through all settings each time you turn it on. Brightness level ok.I have quite a few lights ranging from 180 dollars down to 12 dollars (being this light) that put out a high output beam. Let me just say this is a great light and i have my 2nd one on the way. straight to the point here are the pros and cons..... PROS= light has flood and has focus so its great to walk with cause nice wide beam with even light or focused you can shine from one end of a football field to the other,it takes model 18650 lithium ion rechargeables and this is good because with as much light as it gives off you would be going thru batteries like crazy with regular batteries also whats nice is the batteries are just slightly bigger than a double A battery so easy to carry spare batteries (unlike some lights that take bulky battery packs) ok now the CONS...... this light only takes 18650 batteries where more expensive lights will take these or regular CR123 batteries, also this light does not have a shock proof rating so if u drop it on a trail there is a decent chance it might not work where more expensive lights are rated for a 6 foot drop and supposed to still work, and finally my more expensive lights are made to military specs and are submergable under water up to 6 foot and they are rated to be used in the rain where this dose'nt even say its water resistant. Bottom line is for the money its a great everyday light, its light weight, fits in holster on your belt very nicely. (holster is around 4 bucks) Oh yeah one more thing..... says 1600lm for output but there are different ways of companies measuring this, bottom line OTF (stands for out the front) lumens in my opinion compared to my other lights i would say is between 500 and 600 lumens ( which is still a very brght light)
