This is the 5th Streamlight product I have purchased and once again I am not disappointed! Quality craftsmanship and a lot of smart thinking went into this one. The bright light is perfect for task lighting and close up inspection for what you are working on. Ideal for car mechanics who want to use the magnet to attach this light to the under side of a hood while working on an engine.
I'm a Plumber and have taken it to work to attach it to the metal framing studs in the walls while I work. It has proven an invaluable tool to add to my arsenal.
The head pivots 210 degrees and rotates 360 degrees to give any angle you need while attached to a metal surface or hanging by the useful hook that clips to the back of the light when not in use.(Stowaway)

Excellent worklight. Though a little pricey if you pay full retail. I don't normally write reviews, but I found this light so good that I thought I should say something. The build quality is excellent, very sturdy. It can stand upright even if the head is swiveled 90 degrees. Haven't had a chance to use the magnet, but the hook together with the swiveling/rotating head is extremely handy. The light output itself is quite bright, but the truly outstanding thing is that the light is very diffused which makes it perfect for close up area illumination. I use Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable AA batteries and they work fine. Probably gives better performance than the Ni-Cd battery pack that comes with the rechargeable version. I have used this light attached to the wall of a cargo van via the magnet for the past month or so and believe it to be one of the best lights on the market...period. I have left it on continually for over 5 hours and it still had light enough to work. The rotating head works great and the light is bright and difused at just the right setting to work inside a van with plenty of illumination.I have just about every type of flashlight and work light on the market and all have their good points but this one is the best all around work light I have ever owned. I have recently purchased another of these to place in the back of the van and it works exactly as they claim it will. The magnet is strong enough to hold the light securely in place even over rought roads and I have had no problems what so ever with either light.
For those that require a trouble free light of high quality this is the light for you. It does exactly what the manufacturer says it will do...nothing more and nothing less. Kind of rare these days. You will not regret purchasing this product.

I own several conventional Streamlight flashlights, but wanted more of a work light for those occasions where you want hands-free light on something. Like all the other Streamlights I own, this one is fairly rugged, easy to use, and designed to be practical under a wide range of situations. I find you can park it on just about any surface and since the batteries make it a little "bottom heavy", it tends to stay put. From there, you can bend or swivel the head to any angle and viola you've lit up whatever area you like. It even comes with a built-in hook so that you can dangle it from a line, pipe or whatever...very convenient.The unit seems quite waterproof. During a recent plumbing repair, it got quite drenched and didn't seem any worse for it.
With the head pointed straight up, you can also use the knucklehead as a conventional flashlight. The light quality isn't super bright, but instead is spread over a fairly large area...a floodlight more than a spotlight. Still, I prefer this and a longer run time than a brighter light that only lasts an hour.
Definitely recommended.
