I have decided to convert my existing glass C9 bulb strands to LEDs, but first wanted to compare the brightness and color to other C9 LED strands that you can purchase off the internet or at your local hardware or discount retailer. I also wanted to create a custom set of colors, e.g. red / green / white. Through lightbulbsdirect.com, I was able to purchase one of each without paying a premium or being forced to by a minimum quantity, e.g. 50 light bulbs. I won't go into the details of the LEDs except to summarize by saying that I was extremely pleased. The following is a summary of the benefits of these particular LED bulbs:
significant longer life span compared to regular incadescent bulbs (imagine being able to install lights on your house that won't burn out in the middle of the season (when it's too cold or too dangerous to replace burned out light bulbs)
plastic bulb case won't break when dropped or when banging the light strands against the house during installation or removal
able to many more light sets together (My incadescent bulb sets say connect no more than two (2) sets together. With LEDs, you can connect many more light sets together (e.g. 20 or more)
uses significantly less electricity
much brighter than store bought LED sets (premanufactured C9 LED strands only have one LED bulb within each plastic bulb, these replacement bulbs have 3 LED bulbs within each plastic bulb)
buying replacement C9 LED bulbs allows you to create custom color combinations that are not available in premanufactured C9 LED strands

These bulbs are High Efficiency but too blue. I hope there is an alternative with a warm white (yellowish).
Thanks

WAY too little light to be useful and WAY too blue to look like a candle. They ARE cheap, so if dim blue is what you want, this is it!
Honest reviews on White LED C9 Replacement Bulb
I bought these for our over-the-stove microwave under side light. Standard incandescent bulbs won't last but a few weeks, sometimes not even a week. (Some wiring problem in the microwave) But these bulbs are still going strong and don't heat up the inside of the micro like the regular ones do. If we left bread or dessert over night in it they would be warm the next morning. That sounds nice but it encourages mold. These stay real cool. Not quite as bright as we would have liked. There's not a big variety in the intermediate size base. I'll look for some with more LEDs when these finally burn out.

This "White LED C9 Replacement Bulb" makes a superb night light, with a very delicate light blue cast to it when it shines at night. It costs almost nothing in electrical kWh. Having changed my whole house over to LED bulbs, this one is a winner. Not dimmable, but who needs it, when the "White LED C9 Replacement Bulb" is used as a night light anyway. I will purchase again. Since they last for so many years, I probably won't have to replace it for a long time.
