This is new technology designed to provide light when power fails. It does just what it says it will do. The cost of using this type of light over time is far lower than the current alternatives that we have all been using for years...flashlights, etc. I fully endorse it.

This product works great. One less thing to worry about during power outages, which has been occurring more recently where I live. Much safer than candles! Highly recommend to those looking to be fully ready for emergency situations.

This product was so helpful to have after Hurricane Sandy came through our area. The various levels of brightness were great and it was safer than lighting several candles around my desk so I could study at night. I live in a place that loses power constantly, often for hours. Until now, I've kept a lamp with a very small compact flourescent bulb plugged in to my computer's 1000Va UPS. It is always on and when the power fails, it's there and casts enough light from that adjoining room.

But the more I've looked into using UPS to help with power outages, there is always the same problem; runtime. Even with that size of UPS, I'll get two hours at most even with the computer shut down. This is because the UPS' inverter is innefficient all by itself, no matter how energy efficient the light connected to it.

So I started looking for another solution and found this. At my place, a large concern is security.

I haven't tested how long this fixture would run on battery yet but I am impressed with it's build quality. It is much nicer than I expected.

It also throws far more light than I expected.

If I have a gripe it's the color temperature of the light. It is very bluish and cold like many LED lights (not at all what is shown in the photos). I've installed mine in a can type plant lamp in a corner...

The remote is great. For what it is, it's a great product and I'm considering buying another.
