I had high hopes for these bulbs. I have 8-bulb fixtures in my bathrooms and was hoping to get rid of the incandescent bulbs that seem to constantly need replacement, and maybe save a penny or two in the process. I had some worries about going with the "natural" light, so I checked the manufacturer's website.

It lists their color temperature as 4500 kelvin, which should actually be a shade warmer than natural light, so I decided to give them a try. BIG mistake. (Well, not that big...I at least had the restraint to limit my purchase to two bulbs.)

They impart a definite green cast to everything. I thought at first that it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me, so I got my camera, set its white balance for sunlight, and took a snap. Sure enough: green.

I'm not sure whether they deserve a 2 or 3 star rating, but they appear to be well made, run very cool and are just about as bright as the 25w incandescents they're replacing. Other than the nasty fluorescentish color, they're really a decent product. The box says that they're rated at 35,000 (!) hours, so with any luck they'll still be bugging me ten years from now. In 2021, I'll be sure to update my review with relevant details.

If you (like me) have been waiting for a natural-light replacement for small bulbs, I don't think this is what you're looking for. It's possible the "warm white" bulb would be better, but I was really hoping to get away from the yellowish incandescent end of the spectrum.

The search goes on!

Bought 3 of these in a pack in Costco.

They say they're 3000k, and comparable to a 75Watt incandescent, but it's not really true.

Google for '4000k' images, on one of the first graphs you'll see, the bulb will be about as yellow as 3750k.

I know the graph is not correct, but due to the absence of a good graph, and the inability to post links to photo's it's the closest I could come up with showing you the color.

The picture shows a very close resemblance. If anything, my LED is a bit brighter white, only a tiny bit less yellow.

Just like a 60W incandescent, same spread, same color, same lumen, only at 4 watt (is 1/15th the power).

Previous poster must have gotten the natural white batch. I got the warm white one.

LED does not get hot, just hand warm.

Hope they will last.
