So, we have a stationary bike with a monitor for various things that is impossible to read. Why the thing didn't come with a back light is beyond me. Anyway, I mounted the base of this light with three screws to the bike monitor. Raising and lowering the light itself helps get the view right for different peoples' height and their angle of view. The LED extends 'out' away from the upper plastic so the light is visible from all sides and is very bright. You won't have a problem with reading anything but it might bother the neighbors if you have the shade up. Bottom Line: I give it a four because I'm not using it for a book light and it does work for my bike.
