A lot of people will probably buy these for inside cabinets to highlight an item on display or for underneath shelving to highlight an item. In my case, I installed them under a shelf to light the desk below. While these lights are probably the correct brightness to highlight a display item, I would have preferred they be brighter for my purpose.

Some puck lights are low profile. These lights are 1 5/8" thick. When I bought them, that was not included in the description but I imagine some people will want to know. The installation went easy. Screws are provided for mounting the pucks. Nails with clips are included for holding the wires as you route them to where you need them to go. An on/off switch is included but requires installation. The transformer includes about 2-3 feet of wire on it. The manufacturer decided different applications will work best with the on/off switch in different locations on that wire, so it is included but not installed. To install it, one opens up the switch, cuts the wire from the transformer, installs it in the switch, and closes the switch again. I did not bother doing this because I can just as easily unplug the transformer from the wall for my application.

I am very un-happy with these lights. The actual light is dim and a weird off purpe, blueish looking. The black plastic is ridiculously too large and bulky. There are way better options and I see why these are sold so cheap.

I bought these to create a dim feel in a room with a low light setting. works pretty much the way i needed them to. i have them spread in four corners of a room behind dark panels and one behind another object so i get about the same light as a room dimmer light on fairly low. i extended the individual light cords with simple 18 gauge wire i bought at home depot. as others have said, these are not very low profile (about 2 inches deep) but that was fine for me as they wont be seen. they are a terrific price as far as im concerned ($25 with shipping) and @ 1.25amp for the whole system, very low on consumption. the only thing is that the on/off switch needs to be installed by cutting one line of the power cable; wasnt very difficult although a bit strange in design. i recommend this product.

also ships to canada (and international i believe?) which was nice for a change.

The lights are bright and well put together but the size of each module is relatively huge. Particularly in the thickness. I could not make them fit under the lip of the shelves I wanted to install them under.

I put these under, then above my kitchen cabinets they are very bright, and shine on the collectibles i have on top the cabinets. They can be angled as you see fit. Very good on the wallet to buy, and in relation to your energy bill.
