I really like this light. I took it out on the beach on a recent vacation and was amazed at how much light it cast. In fact, my only (minor) gripe is the single intensity switch. It would be nice to have an option to dim the light a bit. It is almost painful to use in a small room. Since it uses a Red-emitting LED rather than a white light source with a red filter, it is very likely invisible to many creatures that would be confused or frightened by normal flashlights.

When I received the light the head made an audible tone and had a slight rattle. The seller was great and sent me a new head. The new one is quieter but still produced a slight tone. I think it will be fine for night hunting. I mounted it on my axiom stocked Ruger 10/22 for night hunting. I mounted it up using a Magpul polymer rail section and a Mission First Tactical FAS3 15/16 polymer quick detach mount. The mount was a little small. I had to press the body of the light into the mount with my vice, but it sure won't rattle of come loose. Utilizing lithium cells the whole thing is very light and handy. The coolest thing about it is that the front sight catches enough light from the light that I can use my iron sight in the dark.

I have one of these and one Kill Light that I mounted to my rifles and shotgun for predator hunting. Do an Internet search on using this combo and you will come across great posts by someone who calls himself Sky Pup,or something like that and he is spot on.

Mount it to your scope using either a single or double NC Star scope adapter w/Weaver base and a pair of lever removable Weaver rings.

Now here is how to mount it under the barrel of a shotgun w/vent rib barrel without buying a $50 magnetic X mount from Olight accessories. Use about a three inch piece of nylon angle and mount a weaver base to it using screws by drilling and tapping the nylon and cut then grind the screws off so they don't scratch the barrel. Then zip tie it to the barrel by threading the zip ties through the rib first. I have a Beretta Explor Unico 3.5 inch gun that cost me the better part of $2K and all of the mounts except the X mount for use on vent rib shotguns are flimsy pieces of junk hat may work in a knitting parlor, but are worse than useless in the field.

I just leave the base there all the time, but you could take it off for bird hunting. Zip ties are only about a nickel so just cut it off and then put it back on the next time you need it.

Puts out considerable red light. Very handy for seeing in the dark without loosing your night vision. Not quite as well made as say a higher end Surefire flashlight, but doesn't carry the same price tag either. Been using it for a couple weeks now and it's worked perfectly. Great compliment to a traditional white light LED flashlight. I'm finding myself using this red light more than my white lights.
