Well the product out of the box does not function on the switched power mode. Only the constant 12v mode worked. I wired it in to the door ajar light but was disappointed that out of a 3 position switch with 3 wires (one ground, one constant 12v to turn the light on when at any time by the switch, and one that only comes on when the dome lights power up) only 1 position works (should allow light to illuminated in two different positions depending on the switched power circuit). I am sure there is a loose connection inside but I bought it to use it not fix it. It only cost $8 and definitely was cheaper than a new factory light. So all in all for that price it is worth the buy. It is bright as well which is a plus. Don't expect high quality but who would for the price right.
