This thing takes a little getting used to. First, you have to crank down hard on the wing nuts to keep everything at the angle you put it at. Second, and this is the main bad point, the light sucks. It's not that bright, and the wire in it was bad straight out of the box. If you have a second light source, use that. Don't even try to use the light on here as a primary light source, or you're setting yourself up for failiure.

I was fascinated with this product at first, but after only one use (ONE!) the weld on one of the alligator grips gave way and the grip snapped off its bar.Invest in a different one of these amazing devices, this is the wrong one to get, in my opinion.

Granted this is not an expensive item, but I think it's reasonable to expect that it is at least functional. When I received the tool the package was not open, but loose and a little rubber thing fell out I wasn't exactly sure what it was, but held on to it. Next, I notice one of the metal clips lying in the bottom of the shipping box haven also fallen out of the package. Luckily, nothing fell out of the shipping box. I start to assemble the tool and test the light remember that little rubber thing? Well it's the cover for the on and off switch. How it fell out I'll never know because getting it back in and working was so much trouble I gave up I'll try it again after I fix the wiring. Oh yes...FIX the wiring. The light flickered at random and within a minute of setting it up, stopped working entirely. I found out that (1) the ground for the light doesn't appear to have good contact it relies on the negative wire from the LED contacting the flexible shaft which in turn contacts the body of the light this wasn't providing a good connection or so it seemed and (2) The positive wire was so badly connected that it barely had any connection at all and broke off within a minute or two after removing the top cap in an attempt to trouble shoot the issue. So I'm going to have to lengthen and solder a new wire from the LED to the positive connector and probably run an actual negative wire to the body. None of this is particularly difficult, take a few minutes at most but that's not the point. As for everything else works fine, but then there's not much that can go wrong with a magnifying glass and a couple of clips.
If you buy this you may have to do a little retro-fitting to make it work.
