For the money it was a good buy, it has a sturdy base so it doesn't tip easy. Be careful shutting it off though the switch is right above the light bulb dome and the switch gets very hot, probably not good for kids.

A big disappointment. For one thing, the new environmental bulbs hang below the lamp shields accentuating a glare which disturbs my sight.

Pros:

cheap

provides light when required

Cons:

tips over very easily

entire top of the lamp gets blisteringly hot (especially bad with the tipping over easily thing)

the only on/off switch is a tiny knob set into a metal base on the top of the lamp. See above you *WILL* burn your fingers turning this thing off at least 50% of the time.

I'm keeping this because I don't need to move it much and I can just unplug it when necessary, but I really wouldn't recommend this for messy desks (this + papers = serious fire hazard) or for somewhere you can't reach the outlet easily.

The light is pretty intense, but it makes the table area very hot. I start having a headache because of the heat. Not able to use it all the time, only when really necessary.
