I purchased two of these rope light sets to use around my inground pool. The first set worked and looked pretty good, but the second set never came on. Then the first set stopped working, so I wound up sending both sets back for a refund. The seller, SmartHome, was pretty good about sending me postage paid return labels and refunding my money. Also, when I've had rope lights before (120v) they were made from hard plastic and were about the diameter of a dime. These rope lights should be renamed "rope ribbons" because they are very slim, nearly lay flat. I would not recommend them.

I bought this product to light the stairs to my daughter's room (walkup attic room). Her room has limited plugs, and I thought to use the solar pwered lights to save on electricity. The rope lights worked perfectly. Much more flexible then most Christmas rope lights(we just got rid of our last ones because the don't bend well), we were able to wrap it around the stair rail. However, the charge (8hrs per manufacturer) was more like 3-3.5 and that was after charging the panel in full sunlight all day. It was easily fixed with a normal battery, but as we leave it on all night, we go through the AA battery quickly. Hoping if we buy a new rechargeable battery it will fix this problem. Will repost if it works. Even with that problem though, I love these lights because I can leave them on all night and not worry about fire and, my daughter loves the colors!

It takes abot 2 years for the plastic to start fading when exposed 24/7 to snow wind and hail but theywork great so I now have them everywhere on the deck and ordered 2 sets for a friends deck party! we prefer this to the lights in oru hot tub...just right to see the stars at night and enough light not to trip over anything.

Non electric, all solar powered, my husband loves these, actually no electricity and stays on form sunset until almost dawn! They are very pretty also and easy to mount of needed.

The first set of rope lights came on and worked fine after the 8 hour charging period. The second set never worked, and after I opened the power pack to see about the battery (which was the recommended course of action from a FLIPO company rep), the battery itself was in the battery box, the terminals connecting the positive and negative sides of the battery were outside of the battery box, and the solder connecting the terminal to the positive end of the solar panel was not connected.

The company was not helpful in resolving my issue and to date emails that I sent them showing the poor construction of their product have gone unanswered.
