This light bulb lasts a very long time so long as you NEVER touch it. It's incredibly sensitive to oil, grease, etc. We use them in our dining room chandelier and they are great.

These were the four I was totally dissatisfied with in my other review of the two Satco light bulbs.. Had I gotten the chance to review these months ago when purchased I would have demanded my money back. Usually I purchase bulbrite halogen bulbs for my livingroom fan light. I have consistently needed to replace them every 4 to 6 months. I purchased this Westinghouse in 4/2012. It JUST burnt out 10/2013 so I'm going to order another one!! The prices between bulbrite and westinghouse are competitive. However, I have to order 2 to 3 per year with Bulbrite and this is my first bulb purchase in 2013 for this odd bulb. This bulb fit the fixture and adds additional brightness to my counter top. I will see how long it lasts, past bulbs go after a year.
