There are two versions of this light. They look identical, but this one uses 4 AA's , there is another sold by an Amazon seller that comes with 2 lipo batteries and a charger. It will run about 4 times as long on a charge as this will on a set of 4 AA's. The only downside is you do have to have power to recharge your batteries. If you check my other reviews, you will see the other version.

Other than that, it's a very bright light with a bit of high speed flicker on the low power setting. Fully zoomed, the light shows as square, which is the shape of the emmiter. Wide beam is big and round and very even.

A very poor clone of the LED Lenser. Cheap in every way. Consumes batteries in minutes. Spend the extra for the Lenser and don't waste your time.

Awesome light ! When zoomed out it lit my whole backyard up. I only gave it 4 stars cause I want to test it's durability. I've owned numerous headlamp's in my life and I can say that this one is Bright ! Your not going to find one of these at Wal-Mart. I had the 300l made from bright medic. It's a good light too, I just can't remember where the magnifying lense housing decided to take a walk. Just vanished?? (durability) I also have 350l 5" handheld light and compared it with this (1600l) light. The only thing I can see is that the 350l is much brighter, zoomed in ,You can see the chip clearer. Zoomed out, that's a whole different story. I can barely see the 350l, it just amazed me. I am going to order another one , for work. The one star review apparently didn't know how to use the zoom feature. 4 star's , still have too see how durable it is in my work environment.

One light had been opened previously & did not work Too much hassel to return it!! The light is OK, but it's not as sturdy as I would have liked The price was good so if they dont last very long I will lose a large investment. I will not reorder!!

I love this light. All of the SOLAR lights in my back yard turned off when this light turned on. Hilarious.
