This Flashlight system is the exact same model sold by Sunvalleytek (another Amazon seller).

It is this products pricing and mixture of contents that captures your attention, versus other top brand names such as: (Streamlight, Surefire, Fenix, Coast, CREE, etc.), yet it advertises 500 Lumens of light output, "CREE" LED Lamp technology, AC/DC recharging capability, plus it comes with (2) #18650 2400mah Rechargeable batteries, has an Aluminum Tube & Head assembly, plus 3 Modes of operation WOW! How can you ask for more?

However, beware. The construction quality is rather poor: As in the actual machining & threads cutting, a very thin plastic (not aluminum) mirrored Reflector. The Tail Cap electrical contact points are thin, and mine had fingerprint corrosion marks. The underside of the glass LENs had fingerprints and smudges from the original factory assembly (light had to be taken apart and lens cleaned). Two "bigger issues": (1) The electrical socket secured in the light itself, and the drilled hole in the "tube" of the flashlight used to insert the recharging plug DO NOT line up my unit and others on line have reported the same thing. Thus, inserting the charging plug is difficult, and will either break or wear the plug out quickly. Also, the Rubber cover that goes over this recharging hole/socket also does not fit well due to this misalignment. (2) The batteries that come with this unit are Ultrafire #18650 2400mah... the included charger/light never turns GREEN, they get hot! I've utilized a different, stand alone Ultrafire AC charger, and it too got very hot while trying to charge these batteries. They are apparently cheap junk batteries be careful they could start a fire.

Even the packaging is cheap it arrives with each item placed in a small bubble baggie, and all items are placed in a larger cardboard box with the contents simply rattling around onto each other NO clamshell or blister type packaging which is typically the norm for todays packaging styles to ensure the contents do not bounce around onto each other.

So why is this even rated a three (3), because it at least lights up, and does include a lot of "stuff" for the money. Far less than the 400-500 Lumens advertised, it suggests (nominally around 180-200 lumens when compared side by side with higher-end brand names known to have 200 lumens etc.), tested with fully charged new #18650 batteries using both the batteries as supplied with this product, and different known-good Ultrafire batteries of the #18650 size.

For the comparitively low cost of this product versus the much higher cost(s) of other known higher quality brand names ($75-$150), this unit might be O.K. But, buyer beware we really do get what we pay for. Hope this helps others.

well most of the reviews mentioned that is was kind of cheaply made but they seemed overall to be not that bad. When i got my flashlight i was first concerned with the packaging because half of it was written in Chinese symbols and the translation to English was not good at all, for example "In case of erosion causing roughness of the torch movements. Try to clear and air it." so this is clearly made in China by a company that cares so little about their product that they don't even try to have the warnings translated well.

At this point i figured it would kind of suck but no big deal, it came with a home and car charger and two rechargeable batteries. So i plugged it in to charge while i was working. After about five minutes i started to hear a crackling coming from the outlet. And when i went to go look and see what was happening the home charger was crackling and popping and i thought maybe it was plugged in backwards (even though i have never heard of that happening) so i unplugged it and plugged it back in the other way and then it started crackling and popping again and then started to smoke slightly. At this point i decided to unplug it as to not start a fire. When i pulled the plug out of the wall one of the prongs came out of the charger and was still stuck in the outlet..... dilemma i don't want my house to burn down but i also don't think it would be a great idea to grab a little piece of metal out of an electrical outlet with my bare hands. So i went and had to find my wooden utensils and attempt to clamp it between them and pull it out of the wall. I was able to get it out of the wall and right back into the box it went.

I am now in the process of returning the item and Amazon has always been good with returns so i don't expect to have any problems there. But all in all if you would like to have a sweet LED flashlight and also not have your house burn down learn from me and spend a little extra money and stay far away from this flashlight.

I purchased this flashlight back in August 2011, to be used primarily for camping and walking our dogs around the neighborhood. While some of the other reviews stated that no instructions were included, apparently the company is including instructions now but they are in pidgeon English and are, overall, not very helpful. For example, they do not indicate which way the battery should be inserted to prevent damage to the diodes (yes, I agree, it is a good thing the batteries are not charged when they come in the mail). The instructions also do not describe how the red light indicates the need to charge and the green light indicates fully charged. The instructins DO state that, once the light turns green, the flashlight should be unplugged as soon as possible do not overcharge. They also indicate that the batteries should last approximately 3 hours before needing an additional charge. I briefly turned the flashlight on and it was bright indeed. The other complaint I did have was the rubber cover they provide for the AC input mine was already peeling away when the flashlight arrived and practically tore in two when I tried to remove it to insert the charger (which also did not line up very well) could have been constructed better there.

Since we have not been camping since the flashlight was purchased, I have only used it for walking our dogs. And even then, I did not take it with me every time. As such, this flashlight has had very little use. Therefore, imagine my surprise when I went to use it the other night and it would not turn on. I thought that perhaps the re-chargeable batteries had worn down and plugged it in to re-charge. When I went to use it the following night, still nothing. The flashlight does turn on when plugged in to the wall, but not when unplugged. I have charged it for several days now and still nothing.

Overall, I am very disappointed with this product as well as with the company from which I purchased it, whose representative essentially told me that it was now outside the 6-month warranty so there was nothing they could do (but, "have a nice day!").

I would not recommend anyone purchase this product.

Have previously written a critical review on this product with the correct sellers name SunvalleyTek. Somehow, it was later automatically listed by Amazon under a different sellers name Loftech. No idea how it changed, however, here is an update. The unit comes in a brown cardboard box with a Flashlight, an AC Adapter Charger, a 12v. DC Vehicle plug in Adapter, two (2) #18650 Blue 2400 mAh batteries, everything individually packaged in bubble wrap within the brown cardboard box. The single page Instruction Sheet comes wrinkled, and the English translations are very poorly done. The product quality is marginal however, it does work, and what you get for the price is a lot! The hole in the Aluminun Flashlight Tube for the charging adapters plug, to pass through and into the internal socket for recharging the batteries, does not line up well with the internal socket, but can be inserted. A built-in tip up rubber cover goes over this charging hole.

SunvalleyTek has been very cooperative in standing behind this product they sell. Hence the seller is doing their job in a top shelf manner, but if only the product itself was better. Perhaps one that was built to tighter quality standards, but then again, you would be paying at least twice the amount or more. This Flashlight is in fact made of Aluminun, it has "O" Rings for water resistance both front and back, the Lens is glass (not plastic), the Reflector Mirror is plastic, not metal, and the function switch has multiple modes (Hi/Low Bright, Flash, etc.). I own several of the high end expensive Flashlights out there, and you do get what you pay for. However if you are not able or can not justify spending that $100+/for those high end units, then this item will fit the bill, and do the job for you.

I got this light from Amazon. It came well packaged and double boxed. The light is farily well built and has a heavy feel to it. It comes with 2 chargers one home wall charger and one car charger. Both the home and car chargers have a charge condition light on them,not on the flashlight. The barrel clicker is solid and the three settings are Low,Strobe and High. The setting control has memory in that the last mode selected is available when you turn it on again. An extra battery is supplied with the unit. The beam is very tight and concentrated and although not a true 500 lumen (seems to be more like 300 or so.)

In my example,the reflector glass had some dust on the inside which I cleaned off by unscrewing it.

Overall, a very good light for everyday use!
