The LED lights up a large painting clearly and the batteries last for a reasonable length of time. It's plastic but as high on the wall as we have it (the painting's hung above the fireplace mantle and the light is above the painting), the gold tone finish is subtle enough to where the fact that the fixture is plastic doesn't detract from the overall appearance of the light. I'd buy it again.

I thought this was very cheap looking. I didn't even end up using it. Spend the extra $$ for a nice one.
