I like the colors and effects, but am disappointed with what I feel is a pretty basic miss on the design. It won't remember the mode you shut it off in. In other words, if you set it to cycle through the colors and turn it off, when you turn it back on it resets to solid white mode. Relegates it to pretty much a lamp installation where you can access the mini button on the side of the bulb. A porch light or other fixture would have to be accessible to set it back to how you want it every time you turn it on. I was hoping to use the bulb as a part of my Christmas display outside, but it won't work as it is.

Agreed with another reviewer: great idea, stupid design. There's a button on the side of the bulb that you push to cycle thru the colors/modes. Beautiful solid and changing colors! But if you turn the light off, next time you turn it on it resets to white (which is a pretty pale blue, by the way, and not very bright). So only useful if you can physically reset the bulb every time you turn it on. I wanted to use 3 in my kid's bedroom ceiling fan, but since the light doesn't "remember" the color setting, we just have 3 white lights. Also confirming another reviewer: these are less than 5 bucks at Home Depot.

If you leave the porch light on 24 hours a day for the Christmas season, then it won't re-set to white. This LED light is supposed to last 100,000 hours! My porch light has a dusk-to-dawn sensor which doesn't work with LED or fluorescent lights, so I put a piece of electrical tape over the sensor to make it stay on all the time. Love watching this light change colors!

Great bulb! The slow change feature however does not seem to include red and if it does, it's fast! However, the bulb itself is nice and affordable. Serves the purpose.
