I've tried various LED replacements for 50w Halogen bulbs in a variety of locations (picture illumination, general room illumination etc) and these are by far the best. Bright light at a fairly wide angle (these are flood not spot lights). The color temperature at 2700K is ideal for dens/living areas where you don't want a harsh white light. I've put them in a variety of fittings including track mounted and ceiling fittings. The dimming works well with the same dimmers I used for the previous halogen bulbs. if they were cheaper I'd buy a lot more. Right now I just use them where lights are on a lot (to save money) or I want good lighting without generating loads of heat for the A/C to have to deal with (home office).
