I ordered two to try them just ordered four more because I was so pleased with the results. I use them in brass "strip" lights on the top of ship models with glass cases, including glass tops, to illuminate the models below. The results are fabulous. Two 8 watt LED lights replaced two 40 watt incandescent lights. The light is a brighter white, which in this use is a plus, and the long life and low wattage (including lower heat) are huge plusses as well. I don't normally write product reviews, but I'm so pleased with this "find" that I'm making an exception. Since I've just put them in service, I can't comment on longevity, but I see no reason to think the long life typical of LEDs won't be the case here.
Update: The bulbs do produce a fair amount of heat, although less than the 40 watt incandescents they replaced. Since heats usually equates to power consumed, I decided to check the wattage with a watt meter to see if the stated specification of 8 watts was accurate. Much to my surprise, I find my units actually are consuming only 6 watts (at 115 volts, the voltage in my home). I checked the wattage of the 40 watt incandescent bulbs that these bulbs replaced, and the 40 watt incandescents indicate just under 40 watts, suggesting that the meter is probably quite accurate. So the bottom line appears to be a product that does an excellent job of producing light and does it at fewer watts than the manufacturer indicates. I use two bulbs per strip light, so 12 watts replaced 80 watts, I get a brighter light, and presumably I will get many many more hours of service life from the LED bulbs.

This "bulb" fits nicely in fixtures that use the standard tubular T-10 incandescent bulbs. While the LED elements are exposed on the surface of the, they are fairly sturdy and robust. It didn't feel that weird to be touching the actual LED element while screwing the "bulb" in. The color temperature can't really be considered "Warm White", but it is a closer to a pure white with a hint of coolness. Comparable to a "Daylight" fluorescent color. The effective brightness is about that of a 40-Watt tubular T-10 incandescent bulb. It does heat up quite a bit, and gets almost as hot as a 40-Watt incandescent bulb. My Watt-Meter indicates that it is consuming between 7 and 8 Watts. Quite happy with it.

I bought these to use outside on our garage and porch lights. I did plenty of searching before I decided to give these a try. I am delighted to say that they are bright and just the right color temp! No blueish tint ... just nice bright warm light. I replaced the clear 60w bulbs and they are very close to the same lumins to me. Very solid construction. VERY happy.

I wish they'd just list the temperature. This is not warm white. It's white. It's around 4500-5000K not 3000-3200 like regular bulbs. Sending them back.

The best thing about this LED bulb is it gives off 360 degrees of light. Most LED bulbs are directional. I'd say its around 50-60w equivalent. It works good in table lamps and fixtures with a frosted shade. It gives off 44 dots of light, so not good for that naked bulb in the laundry room etc. I'm hopping they come out with 12-15w bulbs like this soon.
