im giving them 5 stars with just a week or so having them because as soon as i got them put one in my younger son's bedroom and gave him the remote... he's 4 years old... the little light hasn't being off since then and my boy's still pressing those buttons in that remote like crazy... light still running just fine... will buy 4 more of these... wil try to put 2 of them under our fish tank... a big deal for the price... we are very glad with them...
FOLLOWUP SEPTEMBER 24 2012... we sure are still in love with these lights...but we must bring to the manufacturer or distributors attention that part of the charm of these little guys is, or i might say; "was" the price. theyre good... but they were awsome with a lower price!!! since i placed my first review on these, their price has doubled. i will just blame the market, or yuang beating the dollar, bla bla bla... whatever... bottom line is im lowering my rating to 4 stars, not because of lost of quality or satisfaction, but price change. let see if the tag on these goes down... maybe i'll get hooked up on them again...

Most critically, the remote is an IR remote (an Infra Red LED like a TV remote) and MUST be pointed directly at the "axis" of the light: you cannot simply push any of the buttons while in the same room or even point the remote "at" the light (as in a real RF (Radio Frequency) remote control) as the IR receiver LED is down inside the fixture but instead you MUST stand almost directly in front of the light and aim almost exactly "at" the light along the long axis of the bulb. This means in any type of fixture other than a "down light" the light is potentially uncontrollable.Additionally, the memory of the last setting only works if the bulb is turned on and off with the remote: setting the bulb with the remote then using a wall switch resets the bulb and the memory is lost. Having multiple bulbs even in overhead downlights means leaving the wall switch "On" and turning each and every bulb On/Off with the remote to preserve their settings.
There were only 2 steps of dim/bright between On/Off and they are very close together in intensity, so there is very little dimming. The LED heart of the bulb is a tricolor LED with all 3 colors on the same chip/housing, so in the center of the "white light" setting there is always a noticeable 3-color blob. Brightness and color saturation were quite nice for an LED bulb.
For very specific circumstances , this is a very interesting bulb. Given that in the few weeks between my purchase and this review the price has fallen by half and that these bulbs are made in China, there may be production differences and manufacturing changes coming so read all product descriptions and reviews very carefully to see if the descriptions are accurate enough to tell you what you need to know to discover if product actually does what you want.

Color LED is really popular now. I bought this light after I did some researches. This bulb has really good reviews. I like the blue body very much and the remote looks fancy. I showed to my friends and they said they will buy it too. 15 bucks is still good price. I put a short video here. I hope it will help other people on Amazon.

The Led Light Units are a definite improvement over the first gen units...The Matte Lens improves the color saturation experience... the "software" is SP1... lol
the transitions are smoother and the colors richer...
