.........compared to a 400 lumen Cree Q5.
It was delivered from China in around 24 days. I was hoping to have a big brother to my zoom-able miniQ5 that I love so much but it's not close. This Cree T6 LED flashlight doesn't put out the same brightness but does cover more than twice the area of the smaller Q5 flashlight so maybe that's what they're claiming.
The Good:
Long LifeUses a 18650 battery for extended life of several hours (the main shortcoming of my 7 watt CREE Q5 with a smaller battery which is 30 minutes)
Lights up a large area
Zoomable
The Bad:
Marginal build qualityI wouldn't get this flashlight wet as the tolerances aren't close enough to insure a tight seal. The O-ring gaskets may or may not keep moisture out but I wouldn't count on it. The switch seems a little flimsy as well.
Limited "Throw"The distance at which you can see something is less than 100 yards. The tightest beam pattern is just too wide to get very far.
Conclusion: This is NOT what I expected from an "1800 lumen" light but more like I'd expect from a "300 lumen" light. It's also not a light I'd take if my life depended on it in an emergency.
