I purchased this to go above my kitchen sink. The globe is rather large for the area I plan to hang it. It will still work but will make a bold statement in lieu of sort of blending in. The globe is roughly the size of a gallon of milk...maybe a tad smaller. Great value and great fixture. The cord that it hangs from looks like black cable wire. I would prefer a metal rod but for $9.95 what did I expect. It is a good quality fixture for a great price. I haven't installed it yet but I will update my review when I do.

I replaced a "standard" (and ugly) hallway light with this fixture and it is just stunning. Located in a small hallway between my second bedroom/second bathroom/linen closet area it really provides lots of light. This light stays on all night and often times during the day with the LED bulb I'm using.
