I got 2 (for $2.25 each) of these for my candelabra lights and those on the fan.

Put one each on them. Now I am able to plug-in my favorite 14W CFL's on them.

The cardboard doesn't get warm at all during usage. I checked it multiple times (after 5hrs of continuous usage).

If you don't remove it regularly, this is a good product.

I am planning to buy couple more.

While I'm not sold on the use of cardboard the real reason for my lowly rating of this product is that the base is too short for some fittings.

The result is that power is not provided to the bulb.

Yes, others mentioned this in the review and yes, I was forewarned. At the price it was worth a try but I simply cannot recommend this adapter.

Bought these to convert the crazy candelabra sockets in my ceiling fan that only supported 40 watt bulbs. 120 watts for an overhead light?! Installed these, and then put in 3 26 watt CFL's. That gives me the equiv of 300 watts of lighting for only 78 watts. Amazing! Love it! Great little invention here! I'm using less power, and getting more light!

Pros: Cheap

Get the job done well

Seem like they will last a while

Cons: Make bulbs stick out about 1 1/4 inch further out

I didn't realize my new fan came with the "candelabra" sockets. I wanted to replace the stock bulbs with LEDs, but needed a "normal" socket for that. These adapters worked perfectly.
