As the corresponding soft white LED from Philips, this LED produces great, warm light when not dimmed, and is as bright as a standard 60W light bulb. As the Phillips, it dims without change in color temperature, which I actually like (if you want the candle light, brownish color of a dimmed standard light bulb, this is not for you, but I don't know any energy saving light bulb which does that). It dims a little less well than the Philips, i.e., at the minimum setting of my dimmer, it is brighter than the Philips, so if you want maximal possible dimming, go with the Philips. But you may prefer the form of this one, which is more similar to an A19 light bulb.I own omnidirectional "warm white" LED bulbs by a few companies and still have incandescent lights of the same color, so I have a general idea of what it should look like. Unfortunately, this particular GE bulb produced an extremely yellow light well beyond what someone might acclimate to after a while...so back to the store it goes.
