It helped to increase length of bulb by 1.5 inches. It merged with bulb, I mean appeared to be part of bulb (extended length of BR30).

These 1.5-inch extenders are made of thin light plastic. They are not UL-listed. In my opinion they are OK to use with low-heat light bulbs only, like LED or CFL. I'm using three of them connected together to create a 4.5-inch extension to hold an LED bulb that replaced a recessed incandescent floodlight.

These are what I expected, a plastic socket extender. I placed the product into a garage door socket to fit a CFL lamp, which doesn't fit into the garage door opener socket. It works and save me aggravation. If I find an issue with this, I will definitely update this review so others will know.

I used PAR20 50W bulbs. The holders all melted within a couple of hours as the cases are made of cheap plastic .... Get the ceramic ones!

Although I would not use these for tight sockets and high wattage bulbs due to potential heat damage, they work great for flourescents.
