We are using this for a grill light instead of hardwiring something and it puts out plenty of light. The clamp mount is not wide enough to mount on our side table, but the magnet is very strong and works well. To put up when not in use, I twist it around the handle and cover everything with the grill cover.

3/3/11 Update: He has successfully used this light to grill in the evening and likes the quality. He says it puts out a bluish-white light that makes it easy to tell if the meat is just the right color. He is happy with this. Still no rain.

I bought this light for my boyfriend. We both really like it. The light emitted is bright and of a blue tone. The flexible neck allows you to put the light where you want it focused, or bring it out for a wider spread. The clamp is adjustable for fit on most edges. Haven't used it in the rain yet, it doesn't rain much in AZ. I am glad I got this for him, he has tried various McGyver-type scenarios to light up his grill without long-term success. I believe, and hope, this light will last a great while.

Ive got it clamped on the workshelf of my Webber. Lamb chops and corn grilling as I type. I open the cover, move the light over, switch it on, and i can actually see into the (otherwise) dark grill. Yahoo!

After several uses now I must say this light meets or exceeds all expectations. More than bright enough, long flex arm allows easy positioning and the clamp opens large enough to fit on 2" thick camp tables but would not fit on those really thick state or fed campground tables that must be 4" thick.
