This bulb is a great energy saver if all you need is a dim glow. I think it's a great night-light sort of bulb to keep on in a hallway or bathroom just so you can avoid bumping into things in the dark. It doesn't provide enough light for much of anything else. Of course, if you have a ceiling fan, or candelabra, with 5 or more lightbulb sockets, the combined light would probably be enough for a small bedroom, etc. Just think of it as a 10W bulb, so 6 of these would generate as much light as a 60W.

I've had these lights for several months now and although they work like a charm, they could be a lot brighter. Compared to the old incandescent bulbs, these don't do nearly as good of a job lighting up my bathroom.

A lot of my neighbors use 75/100 watt bulbs in their garage carriage lights and I just don't get why they think they need that much light. To me the lights are only there for basic lighting and decoration not for reading a newspaper. So I've been looking for LED lights that aren't overly bright and found these after trying another brand first. The other LED lights wouldn't fit in the socket due to the size of the electronics in the base. These don't require an adapter to fit into the socket.

The light level is perfect and conveys a nice comfortable feeling when coming home in the evening.
