I've had mine running continuously for over a year now and it hasn't overheated or anything. Even after all that time, it's still cool enough to touch! How amazing.
It's not quite as bright as I hoped, but it's nice if it's shining on a wall or in a diffusive lamp (which can be tricky to make/find for this light since it's a spotlight). Placed in an entryway, it can make your house stand out and add some color with the slowly scrolling colors in the "smooth" mode. Some of the colors like red, blue, and green are so pure and vibrant that it's beautiful to see.
The remote distance can be short, especially when the battery is low. It takes standard CR2025 batteries you can find at the store.
Everyone who notices it is interested where I got it and how much it was. I'd give it 5 stars if the light were more powerful. In a dark room it's like a night-light or a cheap flashlight in terms of brightness, but overall it's still a cool thing to have.
