Meets all my expectations. Had gotten less expensive product and lasted only couple weeks before failed. Have had over a month. Put in LED lights and when sun goes down, lights come on as expected. Durable metal. All parts needed to operate in place. I used extension cord to plug into outdoor outlet. Would highly recommend this purchase to anyone else.

This item (Red Dot CS902) is currently $15.98 at my local Home Depot. I installed it to replace an older unit when we had our siding replaced. I had used CFL spots for years with the older unit with no problems. This unit came on and went off the first night, then would not work at all. Electrician who works at Home Depot suspects it is because the photocell is not compatible with CFLs, saying that my CFLs' ballasts were probably ruined. Sure enough, the CFL spots will now glow but will not light when screwed into a regular lamp socket (no photocell in system). When I called Thomas & Betts customer service number found on their website, I was given another number to call for retail customer service (hey, this must be a big corporation). The person who answered that number transferred me to the technical department, who told me I had the wrong technical department and gave me another number to call. There I heard a very short, terse recording telling me I could leave a message or send an e-mail to an address that was stated too quickly to understand. Called back the very first number, was transferred back to the same wrong technical department where this time the gentleman at least tried to help. He put me on hold, called the "correct" technical department and twice listened to the quick message, but still couldn't tell me where to send my e-mail. I will gather myself and call corporate again tomorrow. This Thomas & Betts Red Dot Floodlight Kit with photocell was purchased to replace an older box store special which i guess decided it didn't want to work any longer after 10yeaars. What I like about this unit is its solid construction, no photocell arm and fits the new CFL flood bulbs. Thus far, this very sleek unit has performed very well and has gone on and off just as promised. This light weight unit is the perfect choice to replace your old units. Yes, this unit is a few bucks more than the box store units, but the quality certainly seems far superior!
