We found this light at a local light store and were really taken with the light it produced on the display. We were told it would last for years and we installed it next to our new front door. Then we decided to replace our motion light over the garage door it never worked out anyway lighting up our yard and our neighbor's across the street and turning on at a tree limb moving, a strong wind, a squirrel crossing, etc. Our electrician told us this light would last our lifetime, meaning at our age I the 60's, and we loved the light it produces. The light is not too bright, meaning it doesn't light our neighbors yard, and shows a very interesting light pattern from the ridges on the glass. So we found the same light on Amazon and installed this second fixture over the garage. We love the look of the fixtures, the light these produce and the fact that they do not use traditional light bulbs and will still last for many years. And it was not any more difficult to install than any other fixture. We've also had compliments from our neighbors on these lights!
