Do not expect to light up the neighborhood (or an entire room) with this light. It is a great accent light that will save a lot of power.
I am using mine as downward accent lights for the outside of the house. I would never turn them on before due to the fact that the original incandescent bulbs would suck way too much power for my tastes, but with these I have no problems with letting them burn. They provide a softer accent than the originals also.
Another use would be as a sort of night light for a larger area.
