This is a very nice accent piece for use around your home and garden. It is very attractive and easy to install and set up. It is solar charged using an internal rechargeable battery that is replaceable. It has a small solar panel on the pole that must receive direct sunlight at least 8 hours a day for about 6 hours of use at night. It can stay lit to a little over 8 hours if it receives more sunlight. Make sure the solar panel is aimed at the sun to make sure it charges properly. There is also a thin clear film on some of the solar panels so make sure that you carefully remove it so the solar panel works perfectly.
There is a sensor that turns the light on when it gets dark. If you have the unit mounted near a light on your home that is on at night then the LED may not light up. There is also an ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the solar panel so make sure that you switch it on and test it when it is dark. We bring ours into the garage in the winter to help save and extend the life of the rechargeable batteries. We also turn them off while they are in the garage.
It is very nice and you will enjoy having it! I hope my video helps you!

Like a real hummingbird, this little beauty is iridescent but displays its spectrum of colors one at a time. I didn't expect much from this unpretentious plastic hummer but watching the display of colors at night is an irresistible treat. We like our little bird so much that we will probably add to our collection. Those who complain about solar lights not lasting may not realize that these lights are powered by rechargeable batteries that eventually need to be replaced.
