My brother, Daniel, has the attic bedroom in our house. It is the "teenager room," set away from everything else in the house. It used to be my room, and when I moved out, Daniel moved up there. His walls are painted a kind of dark shade of gray, and he has black furniture and bedding in there. It is pretty dark in there with just one small window on the front wall and a regular sized window tucked in a corner by his closet.
We didn't want to do a whole lot to my brother's room since he is headed to college next month, and my mom will be moving up there then so Teresa can have her own room. But we did want a floor lamp to help brighten up Daniel's room, and this is something he can take to college with him to use in his dorm. My mom was searching around for one and came across LumiSource and asked me to contact them. They sent us their Triflex LED Floor Lamp for Daniel's room.
This lamp was perfect for Daniel's room to put by his sleeper sofa. It is flexible at the top and each light can be pointed in any direction. We love that it has LED lights in it, so no more changing light bulbs since LED light bulbs last a very long time! The lamp measures 10 inches in diameter by 61 inches high. Since the top is flexible it fits well in the corner of Daniel's room even though there are 4 foot walls with a sloping ceiling.
Daniel keeps a color-changing bulb in his ceiling light fixture, so he uses his Triflex LED Floor Lamp as his main source of light (along with other fun lights like lava lamps). The LED lights are bright enough for him to see whatever he needs to whether it is day or night. It has a long cord with a button on the cord near the lamp so you can just tap it with your foot to turn it on and off. The cord is long enough to put the lamp anywhere you desire.
This lamp is perfect for any teenager's room, girl or boy, or great if you have modern decor in your house. I know many of you are shopping for your college-bound teens' dorms as well, and LumiSource has plenty of great products for dorms too.I like the minimalist design. It is bright as reading lamp, yet does not get very hot. Bendable to focus and lightweight to carry around. I even use it to aim on details of clothes while ironing.
