This product is the same size as the regular exit signs (only with the extra emergency led lights.) They don't create a lot of emergency light. If you need emergency flood lights that produce a lot of light, you should shop elsewhere. But the added emergency light is a great addition without taking-up more space. I got stung buying $25 exit signs--they failed immediately. This exit sign has been installed and operating for a few months without problems. I'm going to purchase 4 more to replace non-battery exit signs and signs that have been damaged by moving.
