This lamp is very compact, standing only about 16 inches tall and with a base about 7 inches by 3 inches. It sits beside my computer keyboard and is the perfect handy lamp and magnifier for reading serial numbers on articles, on documents, on my debit or credit cards and the tiny phone numbers printed on correspondence, etc.
Because of the ring flourescent light bulb, it also casts a perfect arc of neutral light to illuminate my keyboard or any article nearby. I've also set a paper weight nearby so I can prop papers up against the arm of this lamp while illuminating them -useful when transcribing data to the computer.
I've used mine for two years with no problems at all.It was not in inventory and I am still waiting for it to be shipped.
