9 ft is the measurement of the whole product, not the ribbon itself. for 20 dollars, i expected it to be at least a good design. after all, fabric and LEDs are very cheap to make. but, it requires a screwdriver to open the battery box, so i haven't even been able to test it out.
they keep deleting the ribbon listings and putting new ones up (i've been tracking it for three weeks looking for lower prices and have seen several listings come and go). so i am sure they will just delete this listing once they see my negative review.

I have these wrapped around one of my floor lamps. The ribbon looks reasonably attractive when the lights aren't on and the lights are lovely. One HUGE drawback: I had to buy a new teeny-tiny tool set to open up the battery case. That was irritating, but I needed the teeny tiny tools for things like eyeglasses anyway.
