I bought 12 of these to replace an older type. It was just as well that I bought extra as only 9 work. They are made from a brittle plastic which breaks very easily so be careful when you screw them to the post.Best Deals for Tricod PL244 Plastic Copper Square Post Deck Fence Mount, 6-Pack
I bought 20 of these to put on our fence posts. They meet our needs, they all functioned properly out of the box and are working fine after a week of use but I agree with some of the other reviews stating the plastic these units are constructed with is cheap. The bases on most of the units cracked when mounting them. I had to add additional drain holes (internally) since they filled up with rain water after a few showers. The components are "press fit" but the the top portion consisting of the solar panel and the lamp lens is easily knocked off. I bought these even though I read the other negative reviews and agree with them but I couldn't find any others with this style at this price. They worked well the first night and have been working ever since.But during a wind storm the top blew off.It would have been better to have a locking top. Ok, so they're made of plastic but do appear to de pretty durable and only time will tell; each installed as I hoped on my deck railing, and worked as expected the very first evening. Thanks Prime!!
