I bought these bulbs to replace halogen G9 base bulbs in a fixture that has three lights right next to one another. The color of each of the three bulbs I bought was substantially different making them unusable for my application. They are also too dim to use above a bathroom mirror.

These are a great color match to my in-ceiling LED downlighting. They truly are instant-on, which is very nice as well. Note: These are taller than your standard G9 bulb, by 1/2-3/4" so keep that in mind. Of course, if your light is above eye level this will not matter.

In comparison to the standard halogen G9, these put off very little heat and are much, much more energy efficient.

update May 2013: I had to take 1 star off as only 7 months after purchase two units just went off, items had paid off allready though with energy bills$$

Product arrive just as expected another star for amazon on deliveries. About product is nice looks pretty enough and match perfectly with my lumaire where is replaceing 8 40w incandescent, energy saving, I believe are going to be a big, big asset. lighitng is cooler and dimmer than previous incandescents, and some of them are yellower than the rest. Overall I liked them.

Bulbs are nice and bright. They a bigger than regular halogen bulbs. I replaced 50 w halogen bulbs in my fixture. The brightness is almost the same. One bulb has slightly warmer light then the others. One bulb blew up after a few days. I blame Lutron TGCL-153PH-WH CFL/LED Toggler Dimmer. The light was flickering with this dimmer even it supposed to be used with the leds. I replaced the dimmer with a regular switch and everything is fine so far. They mailed me the replacement bulb promptly. Excellent and fast service.

The lights are advertised as "warm," but they are considerably cooler than the incandescents I am replacing. They give off light like an old style fluorescent tube. Harsh and cool. Additionally, the audible hum is significant . The price is low compared to similar bulbs.
