I am switching over to LEDs as I have been disappointed with the cost and short life of halogen bulbs and the performance of CFLs. It has taken me two years and lots of research to understand the differences and for the cost/benefit of using LEDs to come down to a reasonable price point.

Imagine my surprise when I found these at about 33% of the cost of other LEDs of the same size, wattage and lumens. Although the shipping is from China and is stated to take 3-4 weeks, they arrived in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the first one of the four I ordered was defective and gave little light. I immediately contacted Lemonbest and they apologized for this and immediately shipped a replacement. It also arrived within 2 weeks and works great. Their testing process includes a 48 hour test of each bulb before shipping; somehow this one either slipped through or was damaged in shipping.

With a stated life of 50,000 hours (3 hours usage per day), these ought to last 16-25 times as long as the halogens I previously purchased at the same cost per bulb ($7.50). The color range on these is rated as 2800-3300K which seems about right. I would use 3000K as best guess and mention this only because I used them as replacements over the bathroom vanity where my girls do their makeup. The other lights, which are a bit warmer (2700K) soften the overall effect somewhat which makes it fine with my girls (although my wife told me to purchase warmer ones for our bathroom when we replace them).

Great price, free shipping, fantastic and polite customer service (via email only), great product; what more can you ask for?

The bulbs are a good size and work, but after 1 hour of being on they get really hot and this scares me because they're LED bulbs. LED's aren't supposed to get hot, yet these do. Very strange. I'll see how they work, but I'm afraid they may be fire hazards. I would probably be better off buying a bulb thats more expensive yet reliable. Another downside to these bulbs are they don't have a warm white color. I have these over a counter and they have a very strong yellow color. I wouldn't recommend these LED bulbs because they have a lack of safety, design and reliability. The only plus is they were cheap with no shipping. If my house burns down I'll know why.
