The Maxsa Halogen Map Light works very well. My only complaint is not with the light but the design of my car. The placement of the cigarette lighter where the light must be plugged in causes challenges with the cup holder when the light is in use. Resolved the issue by purchasing and mounting a socket extender which allows use of the light and cup holder at the same time. The reason for purchasing the light was that my wife reads a lot and the hand held light she was using kept getting pointed at my eyes which interfered with my night vision. This light, once set, she didn't have to adjust as she turned pages in her book or magazine. Has a convenient on / off switch on top to help make sure the car battery doesn't get run down. The flexible tube is stiff enough that the light stays put where set even on bumps like catching an unexpected speed bump which can provide a significant jolt to the car and its contents. Very pleased with the product so far.

This is a really handy little light. I have one I use in my work truck all the timeit's perfect for illuminating the keypad on my laptop when I'm running test sequences or closing out jobs after dark. I like it so much that I'm buying another for my daughter to use in her carshe has a really lousy/weak dome light that doesn't light up the front seat at all, so this will help light up the front dashboard area when she's looking for change at the drive-thru and such. Was surprised at the quality for the economical price. This little light (with an on/off switch) works great. The flexible stem is very sturdy and stays in position even bouncing down the road in a semi. We're truck drivers and purchased it as a convenient little night light to leave plugged in to a 12v power outlet in our truck. It's perfect!
