I have had this LED Light for a few years now. This light is well worth the price of $30.00. It comes with both a wall and automobile charging cable. The light can swivel at mid point of the flashlight to direct the light in various directions when placed on a flat surface. It can also hang from the hook located on the top of unit. I'm ordering another one so i'll have light in another room if power goes out.

I've had no problems with this product. I'm not sure they last 2 years like they advertise, but they are just fine and the price is reasonable.
I want to continue to read in my living room, but have a lower electric bill. Can I do that with this bulb? How much light does this bulb put out? I do not know because the amount of light is measured in lumens. The product specifications do not include a number for lumens. Choosing a bulb today is more complicated than it was in the past when we had lots of energy in the world.

All halogen lights emit much brighter light than incancescent bulbs. These are no exception. Although there are many brands of halogen lights availableI purchased them because of the GE name. The only complaint is the amount of heat produced, but that's a characteristic of halogen bulbs.Best Deals for GE Lighting 16751 50-Watt Edison Halogen Floodlight GU10 Light Bulb

What a WASTE of time and money, I ordered this product and waited to put it in initially. When I did, it did Not work, then I went to remove the bulb so that I could return it it will not come out of the socket, the former bulb came out easily and then I put in this faulty bulb, as I have in the past with other bulbs, without any problems. It kind of shows my age; but the last time I bought a timer for a 3-way switch, I had to get one of those with a rotary knob which don't look very attractive. That was the only way to have the dimming level stay set when turn the light on and off from different locations. Now I am remodeling and using decorative switches and this matches all the other switches and dims the lights the way I want.
the price was right and the color also. What more could I ask for?

We have a bunch of these around the house, after a recent remodel. While they're attractive and generally innocuous, they routinely burn out at the same time as whatever light they're connected to. Apparently the voltage spike that sometimes accompanies the "flash" of a light burning out fries the dimmer's electronics. So instead of replacing a $1 screw in bulb, I get to replace the $30 dimmer, with all the fun that entails (circuit breaker, wired connections, etc.). The one in our kitchen just burned out for about the 5th time.Best Deals for Lutron DVW603PH-WH Electronics Diva 3-Way Duo Dimmers, White
I have about 5 of these now, and they perform flawlessly. I installed one on a 4-way switch and it works great. I like how they look like all of the other switches. What can you say about a dimmer switch? I gave it 5 stars because it shows a dim light when off and because there were very detailed wiring instructions included should a person need those as a guide.Buy Designers Edge L-2552PW 15-1/2-Inch Dual Eye Motion-Activated

I bought three of these units. Installation, replacing non-motion-sensitive lights of similar size, was straightforward. I soldered all the connections rather than trusting to twisting bare wires together. This meant I needed larger acorn insulaters than were supplied, but that was not a problem. I like the flexible programming the lights allow, including a choice of dusk-to-dawn when needed. I installed compact fluorescent bulbs, providing lots of light for relatively little electricity consumption. Some electronic units are disturbed by compact fluorescents, but these are apparently immune. I shopped around before selecting this lamp -it was significantly less expensive than others with similar features. Overall it is an excellent value.
We believe it is from the same brand, it looks identical with very minor different in the wiring. The last one lasted 10 years and getting rusty and "moody" at times. This one does what it says. some minor adjustment was made to fit into our old fixture. We had to use the old screw, because it was longer than the new one.
otherwise a great light for the next ten years, we hope.
1. This does NOT have the low output setting... that is... the bulb glowing softer than normal as continuous operation and only glowing louder when triggered by motion sensor. This isn't for you if THAT is what you want.
2. I would give the paint quality 4 out of 5 but overall build quality 5 out of 5.
3. The highest sensitivity setting may not be good for those who want a large distance covered. By "distance", I mean, how far away from you want the sensor to trigger the light. Mine triggers around 8-10 ft displacement from the sensor which is fine for me.
4. Installation was easy and it worked just as expected. This was not the case with the previous lights I had purchased from Lowe's. Newbee note: Just remember to install correctly. These products have 4 wires instead of the 3 in normal lamps. The 4th wire is for the next-in-series lamp that you might want to control by THIS light's motion sensor... so that both come on when THIS light's motion sensor is triggered. Just don't connect that 4th wire to anything if you don't need to and it should work as normal.
5. For those times when you need it on while gulping beer in your patio... switch on and off 3 times in 3 seconds to toggle from sensor mode to always on mode. If u forget to toggle back to sensor mode, the always on mode turns back to sensor mode next morning... assuming there's sun showing up in your patio the next morning.
6. If my budget is the same and I don't need a low setting light, I will purchase this again instead of running around and comparing a million others.
Update three months later: Working flawlessly. As I approach the porch, the light comes on, and provides safe illumination and allows me to easily find the lock for the house key. It is stylish and attractive.

This is an attractive lantern that provides ample lighting as well as security. I really like that it can be set as a dusk to dawn light or motion detection. It is great for approaching the front steps and the light illuminates the area. I used to leave a porch light on all night long (early evening until I leave for work in the mornings), so this offers a more cost efficient lighting option.Update three months later: Working flawlessly. We installed this light facing a car travel lane 50 feet (15 meters) away on a fairly busy street. Even with the lowest setting, it stays on all night. it would have been nice to have an even lower setting. However, it's a good looking, well made light, which was delivered as promised for a good price, so we're very pleased with the purchase.Buy Fulcrum 30015-308 9 LED Tap Light

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Summary: bright "taplight" with easy mounting but only for temporary / short usage
This is a nicely made light with a decent power button (it has a little more travel than I would like. A lighter touch would be nice)
The light is 3-7/8 inches in diameter much larger than other tap lights so I was disappointed that it didn't take AA's which have about 3x the run time of AAA's (2900 mAH vs ~1000 for AAA's) That said the light slides onto a self adhesive mounting base which makes battery changes much easier.
The beam is nice, even, and quite wide. I measured a 22" circle from a distance of 15" which means that the angle is about 75 degrees. It's also bright enough to be a (dim)under counter light. Unfortunately, I used a DVM and measured the draw to be 80 mA this means a fresh set of batteries is good for ~12 hours. A set of rechargables (~750 mAh) would be good for perhaps 9 hours.
I may try to convert this with a AC adapter so I can use it for an undercounter light it's that bright.
If you have any questions or comments, or if you've found this info helpful, please let me know!
The double sided tape is quite sticky, and will probably be what most folks use. Some surfaces might not play nice with the adhesive though, and the screws then offer a more permanent and sturdy solution. You need to be a little handy for this option though, and popping the light off a screwed-in base to change the batteries requires lining it up just in the right spot. Tricky. In an unscientific test, I put 3 full rechargeable AAA batteries in and left the light on. After approximately 72 hours of constant use, I came home to find the LEDs still shining but very dim. Your results may vary.
While a decent product, there some areas where it could have been more thoughtfully designed:
* The heavy-duty blister packaging made for difficult, even dangerous, product removal.
* The housing feels flimsy but has held up well so far. It doesn't inspire confidence in the tap light's long-term durability though.
* I actually had to read the instructions to figure out how to get to the battery compartment. It wasn't that hard after I figured it out, but it was challenging the first time. I don't look forward to doing this every time the batteries die, especially if the unit were screwed onto a surface (see earlier).
* Once you've stuck it somewhere, it is there to stay. Velcro instead of 2-sided tape might have been a better option. Make sure you get where you want, because you can't pivot the beam, a feature available in some other tap/puck light models.
* There is no dimming mode, just on or off.
* No light or motion sensor.
* It is pricier than many comparable tap lights.
The 30015-301 from Fulcrum is a bright, easy-to-use tap light for those areas that need illumination and wiring is not a good option. Make sure it is the best fit for your needs though. I also have a set of Rite Lites and though not as bright, find them more versatile, attractive and a better value overall. I may just keep my Fulcrum model loose and use it when I travel, or as a back-up in my car.
EDIT (01/04/2012): The double sided tape does not last forever. After several months hanging under a shelf, the Fulcrum did indeed fall off.
I'm keeping this in my power failure kit -it will light a room about as bright as a candle (and much brighter within the cone of light that it projects), and it's safer than a candle.
The light isn't beautiful or blinding, but it's fine. The color is a kind of blueish white. Looking straight at the light while holding it is uncomfortable, and at that distance, it looks about as bright as a 100 watt bulb to my (untrained) eye. It uses LEDs instead of an incandescent or florescent bulb, so you don't need to replace bulbs, and you'll get more battery life than you would with a different technology. (3 AAA batteries). It attaches to a base disk, which you can then attach to a wall with the included double-sided tape or a screw.
All in all, a good solution for someplace you can't run a wire to, especially at this price.
It's powered by three AAA batteries, and the batteries are easy enough to install. There's a mounting plate that can be affixed to just about any surface with the included adhesive strips, or more permanently mounted to a wood or wallboard surface with the supplied small screws. The unit is lightweight and doesn't require much mechanical support to stay where you want it to stay.
I can't exactly say as to battery life, but this design of light should have pretty good battery life. A slightly deceptive package label says "100,000 hours" but that's the life of the bulbs. I'm guessing the batteries will last more like 100 hours, but I haven't fully discharged my first set as yet.
That one flaw? The unit twists off the base to be removed and thus expose the battery compartment, then twists back on again. The problem is that the twist-on mechanism doesn't lock, and if you knock into the unit, it can pop open and spill out the batteries. That would be most annoying in a dark area or during a power outage, and it's much more easily done than it should be. So if you buy this unit, be careful of this problem.
Do I recommend this light? Yes, up to a point. It is a good light and is very versatile, but unfortunately I'd have to classify it as not completely reliable due to the ease with which the batteries can be knocked out.
Placed in the master bedroom of my house, this can light up the entire room enough to SEE by, but not enough to read by for any period of time. For that, a few of these lights placed strategically around the house would be a great idea for those that experience power failures regularly. Placed on the bedside, wall behind the bed, or headboard, this produces enough light to read by, though you're not really going to get much ambient light and you'll get eye-strain long before tiring of reading...for simple "can't sleep, read a boring book for a while" scenarios, that's good...but this is not a reading light (or does it claim to be.)
I also found that in various cupboards, as long as its positioned correctly, the "wide angle" beam is bright enough to illuminate the far recesses... So at this point, having not "mounted" (permanently taped, which is why it's 4 stars, not 5) this light anywhere, I have plenty of possibilities.
Overall, a good tap light. Would recommend.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Fulcrum LED tap light is an evolution of the "wire-free light for anywhere" idea. It's 9 LEDs is the most I've seen in this type of product--most offer 3 or 5. It offers both 2 sided tape and screws as means to affix it to a surface. The tap feature works without much pressure making it easy to turn on even if not pressing it directly. Just be careful to not look at the light when turning it on because those LEDs are bright! Especially if you are in a dark space, you'll be blinded for a several moments. The LEDs shine with a cold brilliance, so don't expect warm, cozy illumination from this unit. The cone of light is not overly wide, but perfectly adequate for most applications. The double sided tape is quite sticky, and will probably be what most folks use. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program For a tap light (i.e., a small portable light source that you can "tap" on), this this is darned bright. Honest reviews on Fulcrum 30015-308 9 LED Tap Light
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Fulcrum Tap Light is lightweight, easy to operate with its large central on/off button, and gives out a goodly amount of useful light. It's not enough to read by, but it's enough to light small, dark spaces such as pantries, storerooms, corners or sides of garages, and so on. Quite surprisingly, it has a usage unanticipated by the makers: it's a really good portable emergency light. It can be kept or mounted in a windowless bathroom for use during a power outage. It can also be hand-held and used as a wide-beam flashlight (although read below about the one major defect). It's powered by three AAA batteries, and the batteries are easy enough to install. UPDATE, 8.07.2012: It is over 4 years old and still holding up. The one complaint I had is that the bulb looks ugly inside it. I recently used Rust-Oleum 1903830 Frosted Glass 11-Ounce Spray, Frosted Glass to frost the glass and hide the bulb completely. It looks like a brand new lamp! Please view the images I uploaded.
GLASS FROSTING STEPS (should go without saying, but be careful with sharp glass. It tends to be, uh... sharp):
1Remove bulb.
2On inside of light, carefully bend metal tabs away from glass (just enough to free glass).
3Remove each pane of glass.
4Degrease / clean the glass well and dry with a new, lint-free rag.
5Take them OUTSIDE (well away from things you don't want coated in spray paint, like your car).
6Place them on a small, sturdy piece of cardboard with a small gap between each glass piece.
7Follow instructions on can. I did about 5 wet coats.
8Carry the cardboard inside to dry.
9Re-install glass after paint dries (~ 1 hour). Painted side faces INWARD towards bulb.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
It still looks like new after several years of exposure to the harsh Virginia elements! When set to Dusk-to-Dawn, you can leave the light switch on and forget it. The dual-brite function is a really nice touch.
IMPORTANT! If you use a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL), only use a DIMMABLE CFL! Most CFLs are not dimmable, so when this fixture attempts to dim the light (by reducing voltage to the bulb), the CFL ballast dies! It happened twice before I realized the reason. Also, because of the way ballasts work, the dual-brite function becomes hardly noticeable.
Long story short after tinkering with it for a weekend, I emailed the manufacturer and got a quick response back stating multiple reasons for unit going bad. Coincidentally the email states that a power surge or a bulb failure could permanently damage the unit something their own support website conveniently fails to mention.
If you buy this product, better make sure a.) your bulbs don't burn out and b.) your power never surges. It looks to me that the company engineers failed to account for those two factors during circuit design.
The only PRO about the product is that it looks better than those other motion sensing units you get at those major home improvement stores.
BTW. The other unit is still working... not sure for how long.
---4/24/12 Update ----
After contacting the manufacturer via email and providing the Amazon receipt they shipped two new units. Great customer service! One of the original units is still working as expected.

After spending several hours looking for a Lantern Style lamp with a motion sensor, I found out that the choices as very limited and most of the ones out there available are extremely expensive. After I found this lamp in Amazon at a very low price I was a little worried the product was not going to be of good quality but once I received it I was very pleased with it looks and quality (good materials and craftsmanship). This lamp is a great bargain and looks and works great. Easy to install.Best Deals for Heath/Zenith SL-4144-AZ-A New-England Carriage-Style 150-Degree
I bought this a couple of years ago for a vacation rental home. It looks very nice and I really like the way it worksthe light comes on at dusk and stays on at a low level, brightening if something triggers the motion detector. After a few hours it goes off and then is still activated by the motion detector until dawn. The only problem I had with it was I stupidly put a non-dimmable compact fluorescent bulb in it which flickered when dimmed. Now I use a 40 watt incandescent bulb in it which provides plenty of light. Since dimmable compacts are available now I plan to try one in it.Honest reviews on Heath/Zenith SL-4144-AZ-A New-England Carriage-Style 150-Degree
Bought two of these through Amazon about 9 months ago. Both were configured to turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise. A couple days ago a bulb on one of them went bad. After replacing the bulb with, the fixture no longer works as before. It stays on 100% of the time.Long story short after tinkering with it for a weekend, I emailed the manufacturer and got a quick response back stating multiple reasons for unit going bad.

I wanted to save a little energy with the porch light. I switched from a two bulb dusk-dawn only full strength system. This lantern looks nice and works just fine. The light goes to full strength just as I am leaving the doorway and also when I come up the walk from about 20 feet away.Review of 64 LED - Lithium Battery - Digitally Adjust TIME & LUX by Button

I built a 10 foot tall frame for this and it lights up an good sized area in my back yard. Planning to buy at least 1 more. I've had one of these lights under one of my cabinets for more than three years. It stays on as long as I'm awake and at home and I've only had to replace the bulb once. I bought the light at Home Depot (or Lowe's -can't remember) and found the replacement bulb at the same place I bought it. I've just purchased four more to complete all the cabinets in my kitchen. They're very energy efficient!
There are better options available, such as standard T4 fixtures or LED fixtures.
It worked ok for first few months. After 4 months the fluorescent tube burnt out. My complain is not for that. This tube size is manufactured only by Westek. You will be out of luck going to Lowes, Homedepot or Walmart looking for a replacement.

Rather than using a T4 light bulb in a common size, this lamp uses a unique bulb that is 17 inches long. This bulb is available only from Westek. It may use the same G5 base as a T4 bulb, and it may be the same diameter, but only the Westek bulb will fit. This means you won't find a replacement at Home Depot or Lowe's when the bulb fails--even if they sold the fixture in the past. You may also not find it in stock at local lighting stores. You'll be stuck paying $10 plus shipping for a fragile, easily-broken bulb from an Internet retailer... and the fixture goes through lamps MUCH more quickly than T12 or T8 fixtures. Plus, when the first bulb goes, you'll take off the light cover to find the lamp's plastic distressingly yellowed by the UV output of the bulb. This yellowing signals a chemical change in the plastic, and can mean the plastic is becoming brittle. UV-stable plastics are available, and have been used in home electronics for the better part of a decade; it's distressing that Westek chose not to use UV-stable plastic--especially considering that all florescent lights emit some UV radiation, because that's how they work. There are better options available, such as standard T4 fixtures or LED fixtures.

I purchased several fixtures and one went out on me after a few months (not the bulb but the fixture itself). Its cheap to replace and that is not my main gripe about this product. My main gripe is that Westek is the ONLY company that makes this particular size bulb so you can only replace the flourescent tube through Westek (or a Westek supplier). The color of the bulb is a WARM WHITE so if you were hoping to upgrade the bulb to a cool white or a 6400K spectrum you are out of luck. Energy Wiser makes a T4 in that spectrum only the bulb is about an inch longer. At this point I am looking into LED type fixtures that are sleeker and more compact.Review of LumiSource Radiance Floor Lamp

This is the coolest lamp I've ever saw. It can cycle through colors slowly or quickly, and also has a solid white setting. When I first turned it on, it was solid white, and I thought it was defective or just the wrong product. After looking at the instructions, it revealed it has a 3-setting switch. Left and right are color and white, while center is off. There's also a knob that adjusts the speed of color change, which is awesome. I'm going to order a second one and set them on both sides of my TV.
This lamps looks brilliant on or off. It's very bright in both modes (color phasing and white), unlike what another reviewer stated. You can also change the speed of the phasing which is an added bonus. Everyone who sees the lamp, wants one. It looks that awesome. For aesthetic looks and parties absolute 5 stars in this regard.
The bad.
Wish a dimmer was included. The LEDs can become annoyingly bright if one wants this lamp for mood purposes. Also, I wish one could set the lamp to a solid color (red, blue, or green) instead of being held hostage to a color phase only mode.
Another thing, I've had this lamp for about 6 months. The color phasing recently started to act up. Now it won't turn on at all. Only the white setting works. So today, I decided to take the bottom apart and play around with the switch. I ended up cutting wires and by passing the mother board's phasing circuitry which turned out to be the problem. Well what do you know, I figured out how to wire the lamp up to either get a solid red, green, or blue look OR a mix of the two or all 3. I can even add the white LEDs to it too but that is way over the top bright and looks kind of like a UFO on crack.
Anyways, I give the radiance lamp 4 stars because it is beautiful and eye catching when working properly. Just be aware to any potential buyers that the above flaws do exist.

I just got it today, the top of the lamp has a brown paper cover over plexiglas. At first I thought it was a sticker that you could peel off, but I cannot get it off. The light itself was ok, I buy my son a new light for his room every Christmas and this one was not great. It appears more like Christmas lights than mood or party lights. You cannot lock on any one color. The base appears cheaply made and the the top of the lamp has no cover, odd. I do not like it.Honest reviews on LumiSource Radiance Floor Lamp
This item is not worth $80. Remember that it is fairly tiny, but it is also lacking a top (acrylic pieces everywhere) the lights cycle to fast (even on the slowest setting), the actual machining and parts are fairly inexpensive. Looks like a manufacturer trying to make a quick buck or putting out their first ever product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LumiSource Radiance Floor Lamp
Didn't care much for this. I bought it to brighten a room (using the white setting) but also to add some cool lighting for parties. It's not bright enough. It's kind of cheesy. I sent it back. They gave me a refund (thankfully) but there was a 30% restocking fee (not everything on amazon has hassle free returns! read this carefully when buying anything on this site!).LED Submarine Light Diving Flashlight Underwater Torch Waterproof Reviews

Bought 2 lights, one for my husband and the other for myself. The light works great for the price, and I am very happy with it. Although after 2 dives (about 30-60ft), my husband's seal somehow broke and the metal inside and batteries got corroded. I suspect it was just a fluke from the manufacturer, as mine still works great. The light still worked, but after mentioning it to the seller, they offered full money back or replacement. Excellent customer service!! I just contacted them to replace it. Even with the minor mishap we had, the customer service is outstanding, the light is super bright, and the price is right, so I would definitely recommend this product.

Poor qualityquite a disappointment. We purchased two and the on/off switch broke on one of them right off the bat. Even worse, we did not even get to use them twice because they leaked and shorted out. Since we experienced the same thing with both lights, I doubt it was an anomaly. I bought this light to replace one of the original lights the installer used when they built my waterfall. These are great lights, but the waterproofing relies completely upon the pressure between the outside glass and a rubber grommet. If you don't put the lens on perfectly....POOF! Replacement time.
The only complaint I have is the cheap plastic ring for a stand. I had to tie it to a brick to keep it from floating away.

Manufacturer's instructions are right on the money. 20-foot cable makes it easy to attach. You can use the clips it comes with, or you can remove them and attach to any existing nearby low-voltage wire. Excellent construction with easily removable cap in order to change bulb which is well sealed with an extremely thick rubber gasket.Best Deals for Intermatic CL115 Malibu Outdoor One-Light 20-Watt Submersible Light
WORKS GREAT, PUTS OUT A LOT OF LIGHT OUR POND LOOKS BEAUTIFUL. WE HAD THE TRANSFORMER BECAUSE WE HAVE EXISTING MALIBU LANDSCAPING LIGHTS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A TRANSFORMER, YOU NEED TO BUY ONE TO ATTACH THIS LIGHT, IT DOES NOT PLUG INTO A WALL OUTLET. I GAVE IT 4 STARS BECAUSE OF THAT. THEY SHOULD MENTION THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION. IT IS VERY MISLEADING. BUT IF YOU HAVE THE MALIBU TRANSFORMER THEN ITS A BREEZE TO HOOK UP, LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. I have had these lights installed for over a year now and they are working well.
