pros:-surprisingly bright on both level settings. (there is a third setting that flashes the light repeatedly, as well). Its so bright even on the low setting that i dont think i'll ever use the high setting which is almost blinding. Decent 'spread' on the light too.
-comes with two attachments one for your bike's handlebar, and another to attach to the elastic bands so you can wear it on your head. You need a smallish phillips screwdriver to swap out the connector. In either connection the light will pivot up and down quite well.
-uses 3 aaa batteries, easy to find or use rechargeables.
-great price point, very inexpensive.
-very light, very comfortable all around.
cons:
-flimsy build quality. if you twist the cover on the bulb, it comes off in your hand. Similarly, as soon as I opened the battery compartment, one of the springs in the compartment fell out and I had to fiddle with it to put it back into the right place. Fit and finish is wanting, though if you dont mess with it, it does seem to hold together.
-three-way elastic band-the top band never felt comfortable. It pulls the light up and off your head. seems like it should be longer, but it isnt. as a result i have to just flip the top elastic band to the side and just wear the whole thing like a headband.
Best Deals for 'Flood Light' Head Lamp: Luxeon TWELVE LED Head Light
I was completely satisfied with this product. I ordered 5 of these items for my grandchildren for Christmas and one of the headlamps came broken. After emailing the company, I got immediate response and the item was replaced without question.Honest reviews on 'Flood Light' Head Lamp: Luxeon TWELVE LED Head Light
For 18 LED headlights, this product is not as bright as i expected it to be in full power mode. I have since regular flashlights that are much more brighter. The headlamp fits snugly on my head. It has plenty of adjust ability to get a nice fit on your head. Also, it is pretty cheap build, so if you drop it or it hit something, it will probably break the unit.i used this many times. It has helped me tremendously. i love it. would never go back to a regular flashlight. the batteries have not been replaced since i first put them in. it has 4 modes: LOW 4 leds, MED 10 leds, FULL 18 leds, STROBE 2 red leds flashing. also very comfy on my head. Its not that heavy. EDIT: should add an important feature. The light unit can tilt down almost straight down. Very handy feature. I usually keep on one tilt down level.
One major grip i had when i first used it. is that there is no operating instructions. I almost broke it trying to figure how to turn it on. So let me save you the trouble. on the side of the lamp, there is a turn cap (it has groves). Twist it to open and install the batteries (it takes 2-3 AAA i forgot). On the opposite side of the twist cap, there is a black button. It doesnt look like a button, but a endpiece to the side. Doesnt have any writing on it either. If you press it, it switch on LOW. Pressing it again cycles through all the modes MED-FULL-STROBE and then off.
Definitely a good buy for the price.
