My halogen xenon bulb for my P6 surfire light died and I bought this as a replacement. It is approximately the same price as a standard halogen xenon bulb and appears much brighter to me perhaps it is 450 lumens in a p9 or z3 but it was not 450 in the p6, but still much brighter than the standard 60 lumen/ 120 lumen bulbs. The light does not have as much of a pure light flood pattern but does have a flood and spot component in the beam. This spot is still plenty wide and very powerful. Installation to the 6 series lights requires the large spring to be removed, but this does not affect the light fit at all. Momentary and constant on functions work. The bulb/dish fits neatly, does not rattle and remains waterproof in the light (tested in a swimming pool at a depth of 7 feet for 60 min)

In my humble opinion this has made the Surefire P6 into a vastly superior light. The LED means long life, and is inherently impact resistant. Impact is what caused my last light to fail (end of a M4 hit a tree during a drill). I have been pretty hard on this light with the new bulb and it holds up well. It is also more energy efficient and despite putting out a massive amount of light, the heat from the bulb is far less. I highly recommend this buy as a replacement or upgrade. Painfully bright to the eyes at 20 yards. Allows the light to work BETTER for tactically blinding an opponent. I am not selling the thing, and to be honest I hardly ever write a review, but I wish I had investesd in the company that produces this replacement bulb. It is simply a fantastic product. You will not be dissapointed with this purchace.

What I like most about this LED module is that it is extremely simple. There is only one setting: BRIGHT! Many other ones I see have 3 or 5 modes, from low to bright, and then flash or SOS. I don't need or want that. I carry a smaller pocket flashlight that I use for lowlight with three settings. I like turning on my 6P or 9P and having immediate, bright light!

I use this LED drop in for both my Surefire 6P and 9P, and it is just amazing. The first one I had went into my 6P, and I was blown away by how much brighter than even my P61 bulb it was, and also by how much longer the batteries last!

After using that for a few months, I purchased a Surefire 9P, and added this module to it. I can not believe how bright that combo is! It has seriously turned my 9P into a spotlight.

This drop in is perfect for anyone looking for bright, white light and longer run times. I highly recommend it.

This R5 Single Mode 450+ Lumens LED "Drop-in" didn't work with the SureFire M952 weapon-light at first. After reading reviews and suggestions, I cut the large outer spring so it was down to one coil around the base of the bulb. This made a connection to the interior of the metal flash light from the gold (ground) area of the bulb. I had to work in the barely fitting LED bulb so that I could screw on the M952's head assembly. Though it was disappointing at first; after the modification, this baby is much brighter than the stock SureFire P60 incandescent bulb! Gives out a good beam and hopefully lasts a long time like most LED bulbs.

Honest reviews on Flashlight Bulb LED Upgrade - 450+ lumens - CREE R5 Single Mode

I bought this as a replacement for the weak P-60 incandescent Surefire bulb (a measly 80 lumens) and reflector in my Surefire shotgun forend WeaponLight. I saw in the reviews of this bulb that some folks had to cut one of the springs to make the bulb fit in their light, but for my WeaponLight it just popped right in with no modification. This bulb is awesome, it is bright and lasts longer than the P-60, (almost 3 times as long) and by my judgement of the packaging and labels it is indeed a CREE R5 bulb and not some cheap knockoff. As far as being 450 lumens, when powered by two CR123A batteries it is brighter than my Fenix PD32, which is supposed to be about 315 lumens, so I'm happy with it. As of writing this review I've had it for about a month with no problems yet, if I encounter any I'll be sure to update this post.

If you do your research and make sure the dimensions fit, this is a 5-star product.

*Update 2/3/13: It's been about 10 months, and I've burned though about 11 battery changes and hundreds of rounds through my Mossberg 590, and this Bulb is running just as strong as the day I got it, it can take some abuse.

So far I have operated ir about 10 hours or so and it works great with 12 volts going to it. I have already drop checked it about 8 feet or so with a little wear and tear on the flashlight but no problems with the bulb.
