These are pretty good overall. I installed two in our walk in closet to replace 42w each of CFL and these are brighter. The wiring and mounting can be confusing if you are not well versed in fixture installation. They use the European color codes for the wires but the wires are also labeled with "L" and "N". You need a steady hand to mount them and have to use the fixture as the template and a long screw to mark the locations of the mounting holes. Once marked it's standard hollow wall anchors and you are done.

The sticker on the fixture said 3500k, so I was a little worried about the color but after installing them they are most certainly around 3000k warm white. Also they come on instantly just like an incandescent bulba lot of the LED fixtures I have tried have a one second delay these do not. The two downsides that caused me to knock off one star: I see no UL label anywhere on the fixture, box or instructions. Second, the lens is plastic...thin plastic. You can't tell when the fixture is mounted, but for the price I thought there would be a tad more quality or even a glass lens. The plastic is so thin that you can push lightly on it and it will deflect it reminds me of material they make milk jugs out of. The chrome strip on the lens is a only sticker and one of my lights had this chrome askew so I had to peel it off and try to reattach it, but it keeps sliding off so I might peel it off completely. Again, I think there should be a higher quality lens, but overall the fixture works great, with plenty of light, low power consumption and good color.

F. Rizzo's review pretty much covers what you can expect. I was very disappointed in three additional things.

First: This does not take advantage of a standard light fixture box at all. To do that you will need to take it appart and drill new mounting holes. As it is, you have to make 3 new and widely spaced holes in your ceiling.

Second: The wires are very fine and I was so uncomfortable joining them to my #12 wires that I tinned them with solder first. Probably not necessary given the low current but really cheap wire.

Third: The box comes with a small three conductor junction block for installation. It has a flimsy, spring loaded contact set for attaching to the light fixture wires on one side to your house wiring on the other side. The little bent metal spring was so weak, and the wires so easy to pull out, that I decided to use small wire nuts instead.

However, the light is beautiful and efficient.

I ordered two of these for our kitchen after the 26 watt version proved too bright (for my wife). I had one up at the same time an old 40 watt florescent was up they looked about the same in terms of light output and tone. The lights are instant on.

Typically, in my house, there is an electrical box in the center of the ceiling. Be aware the wire coming out of the back of the fixture (3 wires covered in a plastic sleeve) exits towards the edge of the fixture, not towards the center. So you can't mount the fixture flush and center it on the box, because if it is centered, you need room for the sleeve to pass over the edge of the box choose one (centered) or the other (flush).

We recently built a new house and bought two of these for our walk in closet and two more for a smaller room in our basement. They give off a good bright light in these window-less areas.

Just warning you though!!! Our very experienced electricians who installed these said they are VERY difficult to install, so beware if you are going to attempt to hang these yourself.
