I ordered two of these lights six months ago. One of the lights was dead on arrival. The other worked fine and is still working without a problem. If it continues to function I won't mind having one light for the price of two. It is a good all around light and worth the double price if it continues to work.

The lumen ratings on ALL of the low cost Chinese lights is a fantasy. I have a Surefire rated at 180 lumen and a Fenix rated at 210. This light is a little brighter than either. I would estimate it is around 250 lumen which is quite adequate for most purposes. The beam is flood rather than spot which is better for most applications. The throw is effective to about 100 meters with freshly charged batteries.

Keep this in mind: In many cases if you need a flashlight, you are likely to need it desperately. I don't trust these lights enough to keep one in my vehicle, or to depend on in a power outage, or to take as my only camping light. Mine is strictly a back-up.

I bought this flashlight from seller: "MyStore365 Super Deal Everyday". At this point i have two UltraFire WF-501B, both from this seller.

I didn't care much about the output rating (stated as 1000 lumens!) which is obviously not accurate but that is ok, since i was expecting much less than that anyway. Having said that, the flashlight is indeed very bright and at the highest setting is really blinding and significantly brighter than my other 3watt flashlight as well as my Cree 502b (which is the one with no modes, just on/off).

The light from the large LED bulb is very white and the settings (strobe, sos, and 3 brightness levels) all work fine as well. The button on the back of the light has some "travel" and makes a distinctive "click" when turning on-off, so it's not exactly 100% stealthy, if that's something you consider important. To switching between modes, you just "half-press" the on/off switch.

Something else to point out is that the flashlight has "memory". That is, if you turn it to the low setting and you switch it off, next time you turn it on it will again be in the low setting. Same thing for the strobe. If you turn it off while in strobe mode, when you turn it back on it will again be on strobe mode. Some other tactical lights reset to high brightness instead. I think the fact that this WF-501B does not reset, is good, because you can select the mode you prefer.

Also, I have tried using rechargeable sets of two CR123 batteries as well as a single 18650 battery, they all work great. In terms of brightness they seem to be the same. I have not tested the duration but my guess is that the 18650 will last longer then the two CR123.

Finally, i needed to contact the seller with some questions i got a very prompt and cordial responses. So, it's 5 starts for customer service as well.

This product and seller combination is highly recommended.

My 2 cents,

~ AP

Just to give you a bit of background, I'm a big flashlight freak, with a huge collection ranging from my truck bed array of 14 unitized spotlights producing 210 million candlepower and drawing 117 amps off the world's largest batteries (8D) using encased 1/0 cables (I don't know why I haven't been arrested by the FAA yet!), to many Mag-Chargers (MAGLITE RE1019 Heavy-Duty Rechargeable Flashlight System, Black) with special TeraLUX heads TerraLUX MiniStar31 MR-EX 1000 Lumen LED Upgrade Kit for MagCharger Lights and dozens and dozens of other flashlights, down to micro lights (Nite Ize NZL2-07-02 ZipLit Easy Zipper attach LED Light) attached to my many Pelican cases. Now onto the review -

I received the Ultrafire 1000 Lumen Cree 501b T6 LED Flashlight Torch from the vendor above (Shop 06, G/F, Kwong Sang Hong Centre, 151-153 Hoi Bun Rd., Kwun Tong, Hong Kong) and it took the 6.5" X 8" bubble-lined brown manila envelope 16 days to arrive (as is expected) at my residence in south Florida. Not too bad for no shipping charge and nearly half-way around the globe. The flashlight comes in a plain white box and is purported to be 1,000 lumens. It is not. The rating test shows it at 509 lumens [Now you know the true output]. (Was never expecting it to be 1,000L, so wasn't actually disappointed). Bear in mind that nearly everyone from China lies about output when it comes to lumens, but the good news is the lying is pretty much even across the board. The flashlight has a quality shiny black coating and is soundly built. The threading is so-so in use, but most aluminum flashlights are this way. As you know, at least in America, the 18650 Li-Ion 3.7v battery is an odd-ball size (and doesn't come with the flashlight) so order them at the same time (UltraFire 18650 3000mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery (Pair) + Charger Combo), very affordable. The flashlight has 5 modes and the unique ability to be re-lit in the same mode you turned it off in, if you hold down the off button for several seconds at that time. From that point on it will come up in whatever mode you then turn it off in. It is light, extremely affordable, small in size (5.25" long, with the main barrel 0.975' thick, and the head 1.24" wide max). The LED is indeed the Cree T6 (I have others). The moderately loud 'click' of the button doesn't matter because the light is too bright (even at the lowest setting) to be used for 'stealth' purposes. This is an extremely bright flashlight for its size (When the Cree T6 first came out I originally paid $60 + tax for a much larger version of this flashlight from another manufacturer [not from HK]). The remote curlicue taillight trigger made for this flashlight (Remote Pressure Switch for UltraFire CREE 501B LED Torch Flashlight) will not allow mode changes easily and will not remain on unless pressure is constantly applied (which I don't like) if you are thinking of using it as a TAC light. I would recommend a Nite Ize LHS-03 Clip-On Flashlight Holster with Stretch Capability and 8-Position Rotating Clip for it; it fits perfectly. I believe if you get the same exact UltraFire 501b unit as I did, and are called upon to use it, you will never be wishing you had that 'other flashlight' (plug in here whatever other flashlight you own) with you.

I give this 5 stars. Brilliant light at 509 lumens, handsome in design, small and light, and best of all downright cheap for what you are getting. Enjoy.

(Now imagine a flashlight with -SEVENCree T6 LED's in the head; they're out there!)

Honest reviews on Ultrafire 1000 Lumen Cree 501b T6 LED Flashlight Torch (Flashlight

I ordered two. They come without batteries but I expected that and was ready. Very easy to use and adjusts quickly and intuitively to strobe Or dim. Very easy to get in strobe mode. Very bright. I have a more expensive one at 600 lumens and this is brighter. I can't tell if it's 1000 lumens but it is very bright. The second one did not work properly and the customer service from this vendor replied within two hours and replaced it immediately. This lite is offered by multiple vendors. Make sure you use this one. I ordered 2 more from another vendor and the delivery time is 4 weeks.

Don't forget to get the batteries for it I couldn't find them anywhere. They are 3,7V rechargeable that you can get with the charger.
