I have a problem in my very small wood shop. Few electrical outlets led me to these. I bought a really cool benchtop drill press and severely needed a worklight for it as well as a work light for my planer. These power tools are dangerous on the best days but with low light? No thank you.
These little ghiants have a strong magnetic base, flexible neck and super bright light. The cases of the lights are turned out of a solid piece of billet aluminum and have some weight to them. The two ends unscrew to show the o-rings they used for moisture proofing. These are a well thought out tool and I am really impressed. The three AA batteries come with them which makes it even better.
Two work lights and no wasted outlets... I knew there was an answer. Thanks guys.

I make gears on my band saw. It takes direct light on the center of the blade to be even close to accurate on my cuts. No matter how much ambient light I use, there is still shadows due to the blade bearings. So I began using a headlamp. Although his was an excellent solution, I noted that just moving around as I stretched my knock caused changes in the alignment of the light on the blade. I would miss cut slightly as a single tooth would slip to one side of the line. Does not make a satisfactory cut on a gear face. This thing may not be as bright as I had hoped but the magnet is very strong and that is the key: consistency of light position. It is held tightly and accurately. I can set it and forget about it. It does not produce any note able heat as it as to virtually be right in front of my face. Beaty over head lamp is that the angles of the light don't change as I wiggle or move my head for a better view.
Excellent option. So why did I not give it 5 stars with such a stellar review? Easy! I expected three of tem due to te picture. That is very misleading. I don't care about what in the text and I should not have to. I know it is just to ensure all angles are shown but inadvertantly becomes misleading.
Not contributory to my rating, I really wish it was rechargeable or even had a socket for an optional plug in adaptor. Batteries are such a pain for me to replace all the time. Long sessions of cutting require replacing batteries quite often.
Overall I would give this as a gift. That is one step above simply recommending it to a friend.
