I bought these for use instead of incandescent bulbs for my fish tanks. They are bright and a great energy efficient alternative to incandescent bulbs. Great price for a good bulb. Another important note with these bulbs are their narrow profile which allow them to fit in areas where a wider/fatter style CFL will not fit.
